Please Join Us For Leftovers

A few months Randy and I arranged separate rides to meet at the temple. The brother at the recommend desk was one of our high councilors. When I arrived I inquired if Randy had already arrived. He said, "Randy who?" I realized that he definitely knows Randy, but had no idea in the world who I am. I told Randy that we need to get the high councilors and their wives into our home where we can get better acquainted. We divided the group into three and had the first group over last night. It was a lovely evening (and I assure you, the photo is not a good one. The silver had been polished!).

We had a lot of food left over, and I thought it would be a shame to have dinner alone today, but how do you call someone and invite them over for leftovers? Rulon and Barbara graciously accepted, fussed over the delicious food, and even took seconds. That's what I call real friends!

It's so awesome that you have friends that are close enough that you can invite them over for left overs. It makes me think of when we were first married and we would call Randy and Judianne up at the last minute to come over for mac-n-cheese or whatever. We miss that!!

We just hope that you will always feel free to invite us for any leftovers that you may have! They were delicious and we so enjoyed the evening!

Judy, I suspect the high councilor knew who you were; he just subconsciously expected you would refer to your husband as "President Petersen". When you asked about "Randy" he thought: "She can't be referring to President Petersen, so which Randy is she talking about?"

That's my take on it.

I'll take some leftovers when I come out there to visit in April/May. We should arrive April 30th and will be going back Monday, May 4th. We are driving but on the way back we plan to take a detour to Nauvoo.

It's not about the food with you (though always delicious)...it's about the amazing company.
