On Friday we were in Nauvoo, Illinois for the wedding of our dear friends, Justin and Melissa. The day was absolutely beautiful – blue skies, temperature in the 70’s, no humidity. The temple sealing was one of the best I have ever heard. Nothing is as beautiful as two young people who have saved themselves for each other and lived their lives in such a way that they are worthy to be sealed for time and all eternity. Everyone was happy!
A beautiful outdoor reception had been planned for that evening. As we drove back to Naperville black clouds rolled in from the west. You wouldn’t exactly call it rain. It was a deluge. The tent protected the tables and the guests, but it didn’t keep the river of water from running through the tent. The ground had soon turned into a huge mud pit. Shoes were covered with mud. That didn’t stop people from enjoying themselves. They just removed their shoes and danced around with their muddy feet. In fact, as they squished and slid around the dance floor we saw some really good moves.
A tender moment for me was when the father escorted the bride to the dance floor. He paused long enough to clean her muddy feet with a towel. What a precious memory to have as the last thing your father did for you before he relinquished his care and entrusted you into the care and keeping of someone else.
Yes, June 20th was a wonderful and happy day!

I had seventeen posts to read after just on this blog today and could have left so many comments. But each time I moved on to the next post the comment was lost. I love reading through all of your lawn mowing thoughts.
